BRUNSWICK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Saturday morning former Thibeault Energy customers met with state officials as they continue looking for ways to fill their fuel tanks.
Thibeault Energy abruptly closed its doors three weeks ago leaving customers without fuel or the money they paid through the company's pre-pay program.
Several customers complained to local and state officials. This weekend representatives from Maine Housing, which administers the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) met with Thibeault's former customers.
LIHEAP officials say only half of the people who qualify for the program apply.
Several Mid-Coast Credit Unions have set up a zero-interest loan program for former Thibeault customers who lost money when the company closed.
