Odorless, tasteless and toxic, Arsenic may be in your well water but there is help. If qualified, the Arsenic Abatement Program can help with grant funding to have you water treated and keep your family's water safe.

  • Get your well water tested
  • Find out if you qualify for assistance
  • Fill out a program application
  • If approved, MaineHousing schedules & pays for work.

Do I Qualify?

  • Income Restrictions
  • Arsenic levels greater than 10 ug/L within the past 12 months
  • Homeowners - The home must be your primary residence and you must show proof of of residence. 
  • Landlords - The dwelling must have 4 units or less. 
What Can The Program Help With?

  • Point of access remediation system (maximum project grant of $15,000)
  • Point of use remediation system (maximum project grant of $3,000)
  • Ancillary water treatment systems to ensure performance of remediation

NEXT STEPS & APPLICATION

Interested homeowners or landlords must complete an application and submit it and supporting documents to MaineHousing for processing.
