Rural Affordable Housing Rental Program

Program Summary

MaineHousing is providing funding to developers for the development of smaller (five to 18 units) affordable rental housing projects in areas and at a size where traditional Low Income Housing Tax Credit projects are not generally feasible.  Funding for this Program is, in part, through the Maine Jobs and Recovery Plan, Governor Mills’ plan, approved by the Legislature, to invest nearly $1 billion in Federal American Rescue Plan funds to improve the lives of Maine people and families, help businesses create good-paying jobs, and build an economy poised for future prosperity.
