Mid-coast area landlords and property managers currently participating in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program or who may be interested in learning more about it are invited to attend a Landlord Outreach event on Thursday, November 2 in Topsham.
The “lunch-and-learn,” sponsored by MaineHousing and Bath Housing, in collaboration with Brunswick Housing, will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 2 at the Corey E. Garver American Legion Post 202, 79 Foreside Road, Topsham. The event is free and lunch will be provided for those who pre-register.
Topics at this informative session include anti-discrimination and accommodation policies, accessibility, landlord-tenant laws, HCV inspections, veterans housing, and navigation services.
MaineHousing HCV Director Lauren Bustard will welcome attendees and discuss new MaineHousing initiatives. Speakers include:
- Attorney Frank D’Alessandro, Pine Tree Legal Assistance;
- Wendy Thomas-Blais, a licensed clinical social worker with the Veterans’ Administration;
- Pauline Hanson, CCM, of Tedford Housing;
- Joshua DuBois, maintenance technician and Housing Quality Standards (HQS) inspector, Bath Housing;
- Kim Brown, HQS inspector, MaineHousing;
- Amy L. Parks, HCV program manager, Bath Housing;
- Amy Liechty, program coordinator for navigation services, Bath Housing;
- Community Mediation Services.
