Construction Services


For programs where MaineHousing provides direct financing, MaineHousing's Construction Services Team provides technical review and assistance for the design and construction of the multifamily and supportive housing projects built with MaineHousing financing. With experience and expertise in architecture, engineering and codes, the Construction Services staff works closely with developers, designers, engineers, and contractors to assure that the affordable housing projects developed meet MaineHousing program goals and requirements.

UFAS Clarifications

The document below summarizes various technical questions posed by MaineHousing to HUD and HUD’s response concerning compliance with the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS). The summary is provided for informational purposes only. Quality Standards & Procedures Manual and Best Practices Guide

MaineHousing's Board of Commissioners has approved the Quality Standards & Procedures Manual and Best Practices Guide. These manuals (see below) provide a reference for the design and construction of multifamily housing development under MaineHousing's Low Income Tax Credit Program and Rental Loan Program. Part one contains quality standards to be used in contract documents. Part two addresses document requirements, submittal procedures and discusses project delivery.
