MaineHousing recently issued a Request for Information (RFI) from Community Action Agencies interested in administering low income energy and weatherization assistance programs in Lincoln and Sagadahoc Counties and the towns of Freeport, Pownal, Brunswick and Harpswell. The State Plan for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 Weatherization Assistance Program, previously submitted on March 23, 2009, will be revised to reflect that the above noted territory, previously served through Mid-Maine Community Action, will now have the following new service providers: Lincoln and Sagadahoc Counties will be serviced through Kennebec Valley Community Action Program. The towns of Harpswell, Freeport, Brunswick and Pownal were incorporated into Cumberland County (where they are located) and assigned to the provider servicing this county, People’s Regional Opportunity Program (Prop).
