Construction Services
For programs where MaineHousing provides direct financing, MaineHousing's Construction Services Team provides technical review and assistance for the design and construction of the multifamily and supportive housing projects built with MaineHousing financing. With experience and expertise in architecture, engineering and codes, the Construction Services staff works closely with developers, designers, engineers, and contractors to assure that the affordable housing projects developed meet MaineHousing program goals and requirements.

Design & Construction Manual
This manual (see below) provides a reference for the design and construction of multifamily housing developed under MaineHousing's Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program and Rental Loan Program. Part One contains design and construction standards to be used in contract documents. Part Two addressed document requirements and submittal procedures. Part Three discusses project delivery.

Green Building Standards
MaineHousing developed these Green Standards (see below) to ensure long-term affordability of MaineHousing-financed developments. The standards address building energy efficiency and durability, and will help insulate owners and occupants from fluctuations in fuel prices and building operating costs. The standards apply to all MaineHousing-financed development projects with application dates after May 1, 2005.

A modified version of these standards applies to single family construction under MaineHousing's Affordable Subdivision Program.
