MaineHousing’s low, fixed rate mortgages are now available to eligible homebuyers in the 16 cities and towns most affected by the closing of the Brunswick Naval Air Station – even if they are not first time homebuyers.

This special waiver of the first-time homebuyer requirement will be in effect until allocated funds are used.

Other MaineHousing mortgage requirements such as income limits and home purchase price limits still apply, but most Maine homebuyers are income eligible for a MaineHousing mortgage, and most Maine homes are price eligible. You may be eligible if you are purchasing a home in one of the 16 cities and towns most impacted by the closing of Bruswick Naval Air Station: Arrowsic, Bath, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Brunswick, Dresden, Georgetown, Harpswell, Perkins Township, Phippsburg, Richmond, Topsham, West Bath, Westport, Wiscasset, and Woolwich.

Mortgage options are available with no points, and with little or no down payment required.
