Keep ME Warm kit distribution details announced!
2,000 Keep ME Warm (KMW) winterization kits will be distributed to local volunteer Keep ME Warm teams on Saturday, October 25th (National “Make a Difference Day”) from 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. University of Maine Cooperative Extension county offices will serve as distribution sites with the exception of Cumberland County, where the distribution site will be the Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) garage in Scarborough. Coordination and distribution of the “Keep ME Warm” kits is a collaborative effort of the Governor’s Office of Energy Independence and Security, MaineHousing (Maine State Housing Authority), University of Maine Cooperative Extension and Maine Department of Transportation. The University of Maine Cooperative Extensions Do It Yourself Energy Savings at Home DVD include in this kit is now available as several videos for download on their website.

Volunteering and Donations

You may also register as a user to create a board member profile to be considered by a community board seeking new members, connect to emergency response organizations so you can help during local disasters, e-mail your friends and ask them to join you in a volunteer activity, save your volunteer preferences and be notified when new postings match your your profile

KeepMEWarm Fund Donations
Operation KeepMEWarm brings together public and private home winter weatherization programs under one umbrella to assist Mainers facing high heating costs. You donations to the Keep ME Warm Fund will buy winterization kits, provide emergency heating and good assistance and offer 24 hour 2-1-1 Maine helpline service.
