Home : Education and Tools : New Americans Home Buyer Club
If you are a New American who is interested in buying a home someday – you may be interested in joining the Home Buyer’s Club. The Home Buyer’s Club is a community-based club of New Americans who have a common goal to learn about the home buying process and encourage one another so the whole group can achieve the dream of owning a home.
Through the Home Buyer’s Club, you can learn about:
- The home buying process from start to finish
- Developing a household budget and savings plan
- The mortgage application process and down payment assistance programs
- The importance of having and establishing good credit
- Home maintenance and protecting your investment
The Home Buyer’s Club will provide you with an opportunity to meet with a housing counselor to develop a home buying action plan and learn about becoming a successful homeowner in an informal and supportive setting.
Members of the Club will meet once a month for 10 months. Club members will be organized in groups of 20 people or less to ensure one-on-one attention and that member questions can be addressed.
Registration is open for the next Home Buyer’s Club session. The cost is $15 and it is necessary to register in advance.
